Triplets' pet birds

My kids have been asking for a pet for sometime. As we stay in an apartment's sixth floor, we cannot have dogs or cats. We keep promising them that we will have lots of dogs and cats once we move to our own independent house.

Then one day, a few weeks back, on December 10, 2018, I went to the terrace to dry clothes. I found a little lovebird, all frightened and emaciated. I have some experience with pigeons (well, that's a very long story- for another day!), so I brought some water and rice for the bird.

Later I brought him inside in a basket. He was very hungry, and friendly, and came with me happily. Evening when my kids came- well, you should have seen their happiness!! They, especially Raman, sat with the bird, just looking at him and talking to him. We named him Chokkan (First Chakki, thinking it is a she, and then someone told it's male).
We got him a cage, and he happily mingled with us.

Well, birds are so much like us! That we understood soon enough. See how!
Like all responsible parents, we wanted to find him a partner. And that is how we went to the pet shop, and found just the right Beauty for him. She was a bright yellow lovebird, in a cage with several others, enjoying their company.

At first she was reluctant to come with us, unwilling to give up the attentions of all those suitors, for the inattention of one, as they say. :D However, our Chokkan did attend to her, and he was not one to be rejected. He kept wooing her, and won! ;)

And soon, they were a highly romantic couple! :D

The boy, being more adventurous and more friendly, showed her around the house. They had a taste of the delicacies my kids offered them.

Then like all other married couples, they also started bickering, little fighting and pouting..

But the fun never dies... And the story goes on...
